Pre Hunt tuition Private days can be organised anytime of the year where people can have personal guidance in proper hunting etiquette, and country field sports. We at Flowerhill have been hunting for several generations. We have the experience and know how to organise hunting holidays so why not give us a call and let us quote you for a time you will never forget! Usually on arrival for a first lesson riders are shown around the Horses and then mounted up where they are taken to our 70 x40 metre sand arena. Here they get their first general assessment and find out if their mount suits them or not. From there we school you over a few cross poles to explain the different seat for hunt riding, which is to sit back more on the defensive for unexpected ground drops and graduations. After you have also been shown the light seat for the cross country, and the more forward position for showjumping, we proceed to the cross country course. 
Here you actually go through the motions fence by fence until the rider is happy with their position and mount. The next step from there is to take out the Hounds. We go through the proper hunting etiquette. We will even let you blow the hunting horn and help with hound control and the general organising of a hunting group. We wish to stress that you can have all of these lessons in private or in a group lesson with friends or family. Flowerhill Equestrian has plenty of typical hunting type fences onsite, and a lot of experienced hunting horses who will be sure to bring you home safely ! |
