Galway Blazers Foxhounds
The Galway Blazers reputedly earned its name following a
visit to a neighbouring Ormond hunt ending in the local
hostelry, Dooley's Hotel in Birr Co Offaly. The party got
out of hand during the early hours of the morning, resulting
in Dooley's Hotel being burnt down.
Stone walls - literally hundreds of them feature in the
County Galway hunt, with a large field of riders and
followers taking to the countryside around Craughwell,
Athenry, and Loughrea. They hunt on Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday led by Tom Dempsey (Mike Dempsey, of the East
Galway Hunts', brother). We at Flowerhill can organise
the necessary details for you.
