Fishing on site is provided via the "Kilcrow
River". Within walking distance, this is a beautiful
natural stream (river) running through our farm. It has been
voted the most improved river for cleanliness, as a natural
spawning area for fish breeding, and for excellent local
public environment awareness in Ireland in 1999. There are
different sections here for nice trout fishing, and this
river has given a good days fishing to many people over many
years.
Carp fishing can be arranged 20 minutes from the centre, in a private lake where excellent specimens of this rare fish can be sported. Pike and Trout fishing are available either by bank or boat on the River Shannon. Guides, boats, transport and maps are available. Canoeing on site is available on the "Kilcrow River". This river is within walking distance as it runs through he farm.The kids and horses really enjoy the splashing and freedom in the river. The kids are safe in this shallow river with full control or their vessels as they row their way up and down stream during the summer months at Flowerhill. The river Shannon is less than 15 minutes away by car. This is an amenity we encourage our guests to utilise fully. The water sports available on the Shannon include Power boating, Water skiing and Paragliding. If all of this sounds a little too energetic for you why not let Oliver organise a day cruise to the beautiful Terryglass for lunch and perhaps a few drinks returning that evening.
