"The most enjoyable horseback riding experience in Ireland" is how one of our regular customers describes the fresh air and freedom of the countryside at Flowerhill.  You

can gallop across open fields, swim through the lake and splash in the Kilcrow river, scaring away the fish as you go. Our fences are a mixture of natural logs, stone walls, ditches and a variety of man made obstacles, including giant bananas!  Most of the 190 fences include 2 or more options, so whether you are a nervous novice  or confident competitor, we will cater for your needs.   Rides usually go out at 10.00am and 2.00pm, and we change the rides to suit our customers needs. Variations include show jumping and dressage tuition, cross country workshops, exercising the hounds and hacking down to the local pub, where there are stabling facilities while we enjoy a pint and toasted sandwich.

At Flowerhill our horses enjoy a life of horse luxury. We have over 45 active working horses who are a cross between the solid and sensible Irish Draught and the thoroughbred. This results in a sport horse with great jumping ability, common sense and courage. All our horses are cross country and hunting veterans, who will take good care of you during your stay.

We take particular care to match the rider with the horse best suited to him or her, so that you feel comfortable and safe while having fun. Oliver, a former field master with the East Galway Hunt, and currently huntsman with the Co Roscommon hunt, accompanies most of the rides and provides words of encouragement and advice to all riders. Private cross country or show jumping clinics for an individual rider can also be arranged.
